The “2030 Istanbul Smart City Strategic Plan” promotion event, prepared by IMM Department of Information Technologies Smart City Directorate, was held on Tuesday, October 24th at ISKI General Directorate Yusuf Ziya Erdem Conference Hall.

The 2030 Istanbul Smart City Strategic Plan, which aims to provide innovative digital solutions and smart city services to Istanbulites by protecting all the values of the city, was introduced with the slogan “Smart for You, Smarter Istanbul with You”.

The introduction program of the “2030 Istanbul Smart City Strategic Plan”, which aims to use Istanbul's resources effectively and efficiently, to build the future with common sense and new generation collaborations, and which is the first Smart City Strategic Plan prepared at the local government level in Turkey, started with a video message from Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu, Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. The program started with a video message from Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu.

Addressing the participants with the words “A new beginning for Istanbul”, Mr. Imamoğlu said, “We have accepted developing new tools to make the lives of the people of this city easier as one of our primary duties. In doing so, we have always kept the requirements of the information age in mind. Now we are here with a local Smart City Strategic Plan specific to Istanbul.”

After Mr. İmamoğlu's video message, IMM Deputy Secretary General Zeynep Neyza Akçabay made the opening speech of the program. In her opening speech, Ms. Akçabay emphasized that the 2030 Istanbul Strategic Plan was implemented in line with the green, fair and creative vision of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.

After the presentation of IMM Smart City Director Ali Taşdemir's 2030 Istanbul Smart City Strategic Plan, the program continued with a panel session.

In the panel; Dr. Erol Özgüner, Head of IMM IT Department, “Governance and Security”, Prof. Dr. Ayşen Erdinçler, Head of IMM Environmental Protection and Control Department, “Environment”, Utku Cihan, Head of IMM Transportation Department, “Transportation”, and Dr. Yüksel Yalçın, General Manager of Istanbul Enerji AŞ, “Energy”, presented Istanbul's smart city projects and targets for 2030.

The 2030 Istanbul Smart City Strategic Plan promotion event, which was attended by people from IMM, public, NGOs, private sector and academia, ended after the panel session.
