The integration of devices in the İGDAŞ seismic network into the earthquake early warning and emergency intervention system will be explored. An integrated web interface for the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) system infrastructure will be created for monitoring up-to-date earthquake information
- Prevention/minimisation of potential losses due to earthquake
- Provision of centralised information flow in disaster management
- Ensuring the follow-up of the current building/structure inventory in the city

Fiber Optic Distributed Acoustic Sensing System-Based Early Warning and Monitoring System (FOTDES)
Developing earthquake early warning technology using Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) technology to quickly detect potentially severe earthquakes in the sea floor and on land, involving fiber optic (F/O) cables extending around Istanbul (and its surroundings). This aims to save time for taking preventive measures for critical infrastructure and transportation systems
- Developing earthquake early warning technology with FOTDES is expected to contribute to timely gas shutdown in the İGDAŞ gas distribution network during the anticipated major Marmara earthquake. This proactive approach includes taking measures for critical infrastructure and transportation systems, helping prevent secondary disasters
- Utilizing early warning signals in areas such as metro systems, trains, factories, and aircraft management to prevent loss of life and property damage
